Microdea Synergize Q & AQ: Considering the use of the TIFF format, what are the typical file sizes encountered? At what resolution and bit depth? A: Each TIFF 'image' can range anywhere from 50 - 75 K per page. Please be advised that Synergize does not store images in the database, we store the meta data with the pointer in the database and the files sit securely in the filesystem. Storing images directly to any database (like in TAM) significantly degrades database performance especially as you add more documents. Synergize therefore causes zero performance impact on your TAM system. Q: It would appear to be SQL-based - is MSDE sufficient or is MSSQL Server required? A: MSSQL, we also support Oracle and DB2 databases. However, if you're a smaller brokerage you can use MSSQL Workgroup version works as well. Q: Will it work with open source SQL servers like MySQL or PostGRE SQL? A: While MySQL is currently not supported, we are looking at testing this in the future. Q: The product seems excessively complex for basic brokerage needs, can it be simplified? A: Absolutely. We have a range of customers from 5 user brokerages to a few hundred users. In all cases the system
is configured to effectively fit in with your current environment and adapts to staff skills and ability.
Q: Does the product follow a particular licensing scheme - per user / per server? A: Synergize can be licensed as concurrent, per user, or server based. Financing is available. Please discuss this with us for further details. Q: Many Brokerages are on Terminal Services and/or Citrix - is Synergize compatible with that setup? A: Yes, Synergize supports both Citrix and Terminal Services. We have clients on both. More Info
